LATHROP - The Versailles Tigers had a trio of runner-up finishers Saturday at the Lathrop Tournament.
Zachary Radefeld at 152 pounds, Gage Tessier at 182 and Riley Rademann at 195 all finished second in the tournament for the Tigers.
Radefeld won twice by technical fall and one by fall before losing by fall to Chase Davidson of Mid-Buchanan in the title match. Tessier received a first-round bye before winning twice by fall. He then lost by fall to Brendon Arthur of Lathrop in the title bout. Rademann won three times by first-period falls, then lost 4-3 in overtime to Dorian Walters of Lathrop.
Versailles took third in the final team standings with 165 points. Lathrop was first with 273, just ahead of Mid-Buchanan's total of 270.5. Lafayette County was fourth in the 20-team event with 104.
Taking third for the Tigers were Kannen Wilson at 113, Tres Powers at 132 and Payton LaFoy at 138. Mason Hibdon was fourth at 220, while Alex Radefeld was sixth at 145.
Versailles will host Tri-County Conference foes Blair Oaks and Hallsville on Tuesday.
