CAMDENTON - The St. Elizabeth Hornets had a big third quarter Saturday, which was enough to hold off the Lamar Tigers for a 63-60 win in the Camdenton Laker Shootout.
The Hornets were ahead 17-15 after one quarter, then trailed 31-30 at halftime. St. Elizabeth then outscored Lamar 21-14 in the third quarter to take a 51-45 lead into the fourth quarter.
Brock Lucas, who was named the game MVP, led the Hornets with 18 points. Brady Heckemeyer and Nolan Heckemeyer each added 12 points.
St. Elizabeth (11-5), ranked No. 5 in Class 1, plays Monday at Chamois.
