Numerous area sporting events postponed because of snow

The snowy conditions Thursday resulted in several postponements and cancellations for area sports.

The Jefferson City girls basketball home game against St. Clair was canceled and a potential makeup date has not been determined.

The Capital City-Kansas City Central girls basketball game that was slated for Thursday at Capital City has not yet been rescheduled.

One area girls basketball game did get a new date set. The Blair Oaks Lady Falcons are now scheduled to host Boonville for a Tri-County Conference matchup Tuesday.

Schedules for numerous basketball tournaments were adjusted because of weather.

The entirety of the School of the Osage girls tournament was called off.

There were four games in the Iberia boys tournament scheduled for Thursday that were called off.

Today's slate of three games begins at 5 p.m. with Tuscumbia facing the Iberia JV squad, Vienna taking on Russellville and Iberia playing against Dixon.

In the Belle boys tournament, the first-round games between Richland and Belle and South Callaway and Chamois are scheduled for tonight. The winner's bracket and loser's bracket semifinals are scheduled for Saturday, with the trophy games being moved to Saturday, Feb. 1.

The Blair Oaks Falcons will resume play in the St. James Tournament at 7 p.m. today against Waynesville, a game that had been rescheduled for Wednesday.

The Blair Oaks wrestling team had its quad dual with Owensville, Missouri Military Academy and South Callaway rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 10. Fatima will replace South Callaway in the event.
