Boys Basketball: Eugene 84, South Callaway 63

MOKANE - The Eugene Eagles earned a share of the Show-Me Conference championship Friday with an 84-63 win against the South Callaway Bulldogs.

The Eagles finished with a 7-1 record in conference play to tie St. Elizabeth and Fatima.

Eugene led 23-20 at the end of the first quarter and 39-36 at halftime before extending the advantage to 62-44 by the end of the third quarter,

Tre Kempker scored a game-high 26 points for Eugene (16-6). Tyler Renn added 17 points, Dyson Samson contributed 11 and Kyle Bond tallied 10.

Tyler Lepper led South Callaway with 19 points and Adam Albaugh chipped in 17.

Eugene, the No. 1 seed in the Class 2 District 8 Tournament at New Bloomfield, will take on No. 8 seed New Bloomfield at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

South Callaway (6-16, 3-5 Show-Me) is the No. 8 seed in the Class 3 District 9 Tournament at Eldon. The Bulldogs will take on top-seeded Blair Oaks at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
