Volleyball player at Helias tests positive for COVID-19

A volleyball player for the Helias Lady Crusaders tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, according to Helias communications director Sandy Hentges.

The Cole County Health Department informed Helias administration about the positive case, Hentges said, and administration notified volleyball families Tuesday when the player tested positive and Wednesday when the Cole County Health Department completed contact tracing.

Hentges said the last time the player was with the volleyball team was July 28.

The first day of practice for fall sports is scheduled for Monday and the Lady Crusaders' first regular season contest is scheduled for Aug. 29 at the Branson Invitational.
