RICHLAND - The Fatima Lady Comets advanced in the Class 2 District 10 Tournament with a 7-2 semifinal win Thursday against the No. 2 Iberia Lady Rangers.
Chayce Gier was the winning pitcher for the Lady Comets, allowing six hits while striking out six batters in seven innings.
Chesney Luebbering led the Fatima hitting attack with three hits and one RBI. Ally Havens also had three hits and Lauren Brandt tallied two hits and two RBI.
Taylor Bexten, Ellie Brune and Londyn Stuckenscheider each had one hit and one RBI for the Lady Comets.
Fatima (16-9), the No. 2 seed, will face top-seeded Eugene (18-2) in the district championship game at 5 p.m. today. In their regular-season meeting earlier this month, the Lady Eagles won 7-1 at home against the Lady Comets.
