Prep Baseball: St. Elizabeth 5, Vienna 3

VIENNA - The St. Elizabeth Hornets defeated the Vienna Eagles 5-3 on Tuesday and got a lift to the tune of five scoreless innings from starter Carson Kesel.

Kesel threw five innings of three-hit ball with three walks, three hit batsmen and seven strikeouts in a winning effort for St. Elizabeth. Nolan Heckemeyer pitched the sixth and seventh innings, allowing three runs, a hit and three walks with five strikeouts.

Dylan Wobbe was the big contributor at the plate, finishing 3-for-4 with a run scored.

The Hornets (12-0) host Prairie Home on Thursday in their final game of the fall season. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
