MOBERLY - The Capital City Cavaliers nearly overcome an early double-digit deficit Tuesday, but the Moberly Spartans were able to hold on for a 76-72 win.
Moberly led 19-7 after one quarter, but Capital City kept the deficit at 12, as the Spartans went into halftime with a 33-21 lead. The Cavaliers closed the gap to 52-46 by the end of the third quarter.
Corde Brown led the Cavaliers with 27 points.
Capital City (1-5) is off until Jan. 2, when the Cavaliers host Iberia for their home opener.
