Boys Basketball: Jamestown 69, Russellville 56

TIPTON - The Jamestown Eagles were able to hold off the Russellville Indians in the second half Tuesday for a 69-56 win in the first round of the Tipton Tournament.

Jamestown led 22-11 after one quarter and 45-22 at halftime. Russellville scored 20 points in the third quarter, closing the gap to 54-42.

The Eagles had four players score in double figures, lead by Christian Snyder with 21 points. Clark Rohrbach scored 16 points, Tristan Jones had 12 points and Cole Higgins finished with 10 points.

For the Indians, Jesse Daniel had 17 points and Charlie Miller added 16 points.

Jamestown (1-1), ranked No. 9 in Class 1 and seeded No. 2 in the tournament, faces host Tipton at 6 p.m. Thursday in the semifinals.

Russellville (0-1), the No. 7 seed, plays sixth-seeded New Bloomfield at 9 p.m. Thursday.
