OZARK — The Jefferson City Lady Jays started off the fall softball season with a win, defeating Ozark 6-2 on the road Friday.

Freshman Avrey Reynolds threw a complete game, giving up seven hits, two walks and two earned runs. The Tigers scored their only runs of the game on a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth.

Jefferson City plated three runs in the top of the first and two more in the second. Kara Daly and Megan Green each hit 2-run homers as seven different Lady Jays recorded hits. Daly and Green each scored twice.

Neither team struck out and each had seven hits, but Jefferson City got hits with runners in scoring position. Reece DeSimone, Brooke Bates, Olivia Wallace, Jaiden Allabaugh and Abi Karr all had hits.

The Lady Jays are back in action Thursday at St. Elizabeth.
