NEW BLOOMFIELD, Mo. - Brooks Jungbluth and Hank Lierz finished 1-2 earlier this spring at the Class 2 boys golf state championships.
The Bishop LeBlond teammates finished 1-2 again Tuesday at the Missouri Junior Amateur Championship, hosted by the Missouri Golf Association. But this time, they swapped places.
Lierz shot a bogey-free, 4-under 68 in the final round at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club to claim the 2018 Missouri Junior Amateur title, finishing with a two-day total of 8-under 136. He bogeyed just one hole in the two-day event, carding nine birdies in 36 holes.
Jungbluth, who was also runner-up earlier this summer in the Missouri Amateur, finished his final round with a 3-under 69. He birdied the final hole Tuesday to finish one stroke behind Lierz with a 7-under 137.
Jefferson City's Jack Rundle took third place out of 57 competitors in the 16-18 year-old boys division with a 5-under 139. Rundle, who tied for sixth in the Class 3 state championships this spring, shot a 69 on Tuesday, tallying five birdies and two bogeys.
Ozark's Dawson Meek, who finished third at the Class 4 state championships, took fourth place with a 4-under 140. Meek finished with six birdies and one bogey for a 67 in his final round, the lowest score of the day.
Gallatin's Jett Simmons, the reigning Class 1 state champion, took fifth place with a 3-under 141, posting three birdies and one bogey for a final round of 70.
Jefferson City's Alex Gentry was the only other area competitor to finish in the top 25. The Helias junior shot an even-par 72 on Tuesday to finish with a 1-over 145, taking ninth place.
Camdenton's Amber Wilson won the girls 16-18 year-old division by four strokes, shooting a 2-over-74 on Tuesday to finish with a 2-under 142 for her two-day total. Wilson finished runner-up last fall in the Class 2 girls golf state championships.

Jefferson City's Sami Swinfard led all area golfers in the division. She tied for eighth place out of 27 golfers with a 23-over 167, carding an 84 in the final round.
In the boys 14-15 year-old division, St. Joseph's Jeffrey Johnston won with a 144, finishing two strokes ahead of Jackson's Carsen Silliman. Jefferson City's Drew Higgins finished in a three-way tie for third place with a 152.
