College Baseball: Dell hits first home run at Columbia College

COLUMBIA - Columbia College freshman center fielder David Dell hit his first collegiate home run Feb. 28 in the Cougars' 6-2 win against York (Neb.).

Dell (Blair Oaks High School) hit the first pitch he saw in the bottom of the fourth inning over the left-field fence for a solo home run, extending the Cougars' lead back to four runs.

In just his second appearance in the batting lineup this season, Dell went 2-for-2 with two runs scored, adding a single in the second inning. He also stole his first career base.

In two games, Dell is 3-for-5 with three runs scored for the Cougars.

Columbia College (8-2), which is receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 poll, hosts Culver-Stockton on Wednesday.
