Renegades manage just two hits in loss to A's

CLARINDA, Iowa - The Jefferson City Renegades managed just two hits in dropping a 4-0 decision Friday night to the Clarinda A's in MINK League action.

Tommy Ruther and Hamilton Anderson had singles for the Renegades (7-10), who have lost five straight games.

The A's scored a run in the second inning, added two in the fourth and tallied their final run in the fifth.

Jacob Davis was the losing pitcher for the Renegades. He pitched the first 42/3 innings, allowing four runs on three hits and four walks while recording three strikeouts. Shane Fontenot pitched the final 12/3 innings, giving up two hits.

Clarinda, the North Division leader in the league standings, is now 14-2 on the season.

It was scheduled to be a doubleheader Friday. But a shower between games made the field unplayable and the second game will be rescheduled for a later date.

The Renegades are back in action today on the road when they play the Des Moines Peak Prospects in a league doubleheader. The first game is scheduled to start at 5 p.m., followed by the nightcap at 7:30 p.m.
