College Volleyball: Maassen posts double-double for CMU

FAYETTE - Central Methodist freshman outside hitter Annabelle Maassen finished with 13 kills and 15 digs Monday in the Eagles' 15-25, 25-18, 25-20, 15-25, 8-15 loss to Ottawa.

The 13 kills are a season-high for Maassen (Jefferson City High School), who had 61 kills during the fall for the Eagles. She also had a double-double of 12 kills and 10 digs in a Sept. 5 match against Ottawa.

Sophomore defensive specialist Krystal Brauner (Helias High School) had a team-high 18 digs in Monday's loss. Brauner leads the team with 265 digs during the 2020-21 season.

Sophomore opposite hitter Callie Henson (Helias High School) also finished with nine kills and nine digs for Central Methodist. Henson is third on the team with 129 kills this season.

Central Methodist (11-4), ranked No. 11 in the NAIA, will return to action Tuesday when it hosts William Penn in the first round of the Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament.
