College Baseball: Hannibal-LaGrange's Peneston records first win

FULTON - Hannibal-LaGrange senior pitcher Graysan Peneston picked up his first win of the season last Thursday, helping the Trojans to a 4-2 win in eight innings against the William Woods Owls.

Peneston (South Callaway High School) came into the game to try for his 10th save of the season, but William Woods scored a run in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game at 2. The Trojans answered with two runs in the top of the eighth, putting Peneston in line for the win.

In two innings of relief, Peneston allowed one run on two hits and one walk.

Peneston is tied for third nationally in the NAIA with nine saves. In 16 appearances this season, he is 1-0 with a 6.35 ERA in 22 innings, striking out five batters.

Hannibal-LaGrange (15-22) hosts Lyon (Ark.) on Friday.
