The Lincoln Blue Tigers will play the maximum number of allotted games during the 2020-21 men's and women's basketball seasons.

But all of the games are going to be against fellow Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association teams.

The MIAA released its conference schedule Thursday afternoon for all 14 schools. Teams will begin their regular seasons on either Nov. 19 or Nov. 21 and conclude them Feb. 27.

Last month, the NCAA Division II Presidents Council announced basketball teams would only be allowed to schedule a maximum of 22 regular-season games during the 2020-21 season. Last season, the Lincoln men and women played 28 regular-season games.

On Monday, the MIAA CEO Council announced MIAA basketball teams would not play non-conference games this upcoming season, and would only play against other conference teams. The Council also cut the field for the MIAA Tournament from 10 teams to eight, and the tournament in Kansas City will span four days, not five.

Lincoln will begin its season Nov. 21 at home against Central Missouri. As in the past, all dates for conference games will be men's and women's doubleheaders.

The Blue Tigers will play Dec. 19 at Washburn, then take a two-and-a-half week break before resuming their seasons Jan. 7 at Jason Gym against Nebraska-Kearney.

Lincoln's final regular-season game is Feb. 27 at Central Missouri.

The top eight men's and women's teams will advance to the MIAA Tournament, which is scheduled for March 4-7 at Municipal Auditorium.

The MIAA Scheduling Subcommittee, which is made up of an athletic administrator from each school, modified the schedules for each team to have 11 home game and 11 away games.

Lincoln's schedule has home-and-home series against Central Missouri, Emporia State, Fort Hays State, Missouri Southern, Missouri Western, Nebraska-Kearney, Newman, Northwest Missouri and Pittsburg State.

The Blue Tigers will play at Central Oklahoma and Washburn and host Northeastern State and Rogers State.

This year's MIAA schedule is a three-game increase from past seasons. Last year, Lincoln played 19 conference games and nine non-conference games.
