Helias grad Nienhueser surpasses 1,000 career points at Columbia College

COLUMBIA - Columbia College senior forward Mai Nienhueser surpassed 1,000 career points Tuesday in the Cougars' 73-50 win against Stephens College.

Nienhueser (Helias High School) finished the game with 10 points and five rebounds, giving her 1,006 career points in 115 games played at Columbia College.

Nienhueser scored her 1,000th career point early in the second quarter to extend the Cougars' lead to 33-15, becoming the 15th player in Columbia College program history to reach that milestone.

In 19 games this season, Nienhueser is third on the Cougars with 11.5 points per game. She is shooting 53.6 percent from the floor and is third on the team with 4.4 rebounds per game.

For her career, Nienhueser is averaging 8.8 points and 4.6 rebounds per game for the Cougars.

Stephens College junior forward Addie Kirchner (Russellville High School) came off the bench to score six points in Tuesday's game. In 15 games this season, Kirchner is averaging 2.7 points and 2.7 rebounds per game.

Columbia College (16-3), ranked No. 15 in the NAIA, hosts Hannibal-LaGrange on Saturday.
