College Track and Field: CMU's Knernschield runner-up in 3,000-meter run

PELLA, Iowa - Central Methodist senior Elliot Knernschield took second place in the men's 3,000-meter run last Friday at the Dutch Athletic Classic, hosted by Central College.

Knernschield (Helias High School) crossed the finish line in 9:10.75, which was 10 seconds behind Iowa Western Community College's Shawn Kiptoo.

William Jewell senior Lexie Stull (Jefferson City High School) finished in third place in the women's triple jump, posting a distance of 33 feet, 8.75 inches. She added an 11th-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 15-0.75.

Central Methodist sophomore Jasmine Evers (Eugene High School) came in fifth place in the women's weight throw with a toss of 47-2.5. She was also 13th in the shot put with a throw of 32-8.25.

Central Methodist sophomore Allison Procter (Calvary Lutheran High School) placed ninth in the women's triple jump (29-10.25) and 20th in the long jump (13-9.5).

Central Methodist senior Joe Bruemmer (Helias High School) took 15th place in the men's 1,000-meter run (3:26.45) and finished 46th in the mile run (5:16.54).
