JOPLIN - Missouri Western freshman Justin Wood allowed six hits in six innings Feb. 15, leading the Griffons to a 5-4 win against Maryville in the MIAA/GLVC Crossover.
Wood (Jefferson City High School) gave up two runs and two walks while striking out four batters for his first collegiate win.
In four appearances this season, Wood has a 1-2 record with a 5.32 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 22 innings.
Missouri Western (4-11) plays Friday at Washburn.
