College Softball: Dickerson wins two games for Columbia College

PORTLAND, Texas - Columbia College junior pitcher Lexi Dickerson recorded a pair of wins during the Cougars' three-day stay at the NAIA Invitational.

Dickerson (Eugene High School) pitched 4 innings Feb. 6 in the Cougars' 4-2 win against second-ranked Science & Arts. Then, after getting a no-decision after throwing 6 innings Feb. 7 in a 7-6 win against No. 23 Houston-Victoria, Dickerson threw four innings Feb. 8 to get a 4-1 win against Texas Wesleyan.

In her three outings, Dickerson combined to strike out nine batters in 15 innings. She allowed nine runs (four earned) on 16 hits and walked five. She has a 2-0 record with a 1.87 ERA.

Junior left fielder Carli Buschjost (Blair Oaks High School) collected a hit in all six of the Cougars' games in the Invitational. She collected two hits and scored three runs in each of the final two games, first against Texas Wesleyan and then in an 11-10 win in 12 innings Feb. 8 against Doane.

Through six games, Buschjost is third on the Cougars with a .391 batting average (9-for-23) with eight runs scored and two RBI. She also leads the team with three stolen bases.

Junior Konnor Arrowood (South Callaway High School) came off the bench to play in three games at the Invitational. She had a single in a 9-2 win Feb. 7 against Our Lady of the Lake and drew a walk against Doane.

Columbia College (6-0), ranked No. 16 in the NAIA, will begin play next Friday in the Queen City Bash at Springfield.
