BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. — William Woods junior Logan Bexten pitched five strong innings Jan. 31 in the Owls' 4-2 season-opening win against Blue Mountain.

Bexten (Fatima High School) allowed two runs (one earned) on six hits in five innings, adding three strikeouts in his debut with the Owls after pitching two seasons at State Fair Community College.

Freshman Tyklen Salmons (South Callaway High School) went 1-for-2 with a two-run single in the third inning, making his collegiate debut.

William Woods (5-1) will play Saturday and Sunday in the Joplin Midwest Preview.
