McPHERSON, Kan. — Missouri Valley senior Brent Heckemeyer hit two home runs Feb. 2 in the Vikings' 8-5 loss to McPherson.

Heckemeyer (St. Elizabeth High School) went 2-for-4 with two RBI, hitting solo home runs to lead off the first and fifth innings.

In eight games this season, Heckemeyer leads the Vikings with a .560 batting average (14-for-25) with three doubles, a triple, three home runs, six RBI and nine runs scored. He also hit a two-run home run last Saturday in the Vikings' 15-8 win against Sterling.

Missouri Valley (1-7) hosts Indiana-Kokomo on Saturday.
