LIBERTY — Southwest Baptist senior cornerback Cory Hanger recorded the Bearcats' only takeaway Saturday in a 29-9 loss to William Jewell.

Hanger (South Callaway High School) recovered a loose ball at the William Jewell 5-yard line in the first quarter. However, the ensuing drive stalled and William Jewell blocked the field-goal attempt.

Hanger finished the game with five total tackles, including four solo stops. He also had two pass break-ups.

On special teams, Hanger returned two punts for 48 yards, including a 33-yard return.

Southwest Baptist (0-1) hosts Central State University on Saturday.
