Women's Soccer: Hamilton scores ninth goal for Cougars

COLUMBIA - Columbia College freshman forward Reese Hamilton scored a goal last Friday in the Cougars' 11-0 win against Stephens College in the first round of the American Midwest Conference Tournament.

Hamilton (Helias High School) scored her goal in the 58th minute to extend the Cougars' lead to 7-0.

In 20 games this season, Hamilton has nine goals, which is tied for third best on the Cougars. She has taken 19 shots, 13 on goal.

Senior defender Kaitlyn Tambke (Jefferson City High School) and freshman defender Greta Haarmann (Jefferson City High School) helped the Cougars secure their fifth straight shutout.

Columbia College (17-3), ranked No. 25 in the NAIA, won 3-0 against Park on Monday in the tournament semifinals. The Cougars, who have won 14 straight games, will host Missouri Baptist for the AMC Tournament championship Thursday.
