College Football: Burnley recovers fumble for Vikings

OLATHE, Kan. - Missouri Valley junior defensive lineman Mekhi Burnley recovered his first fumble of the season Saturday in the Vikings' 38-17 loss to MidAmerica Nazarene.

Burnley (Jefferson City High School) recovered the fumble at the MidAmerica Nazarene 22-yard line late in the third quarter. It led to a Vikings' touchdown to cut the deficit to 31-10 in the final minute of the quarter.

Burnley also finished the game with two solo tackles. In 10 games this season, he has 28 total tackles, including seven solo stops, to go with two tackles for loss and half a sack.

The fumble recovery was the second of his career.

Missouri Valley (3-7) wraps up the season Saturday at home against No. 20 Benedictine.
