MONTICELLO, Ark. - The Lincoln women's basketball team opened the season Friday with a 70-57 loss against Southern Arkansas at the Central Region Challenge.
Lincoln scored the game's first five points with a Kaloni Pryear 3-pointer and a Anna Munoz Vidueira layup.
The Muleriders answered with an 8-0 run and led 17-13 after the first quarter.
Lincoln never led after that, but the score was tied four times in the second quarter.
Natasha Dolinsky tied it at 29 with a 3 at the 2:52 mark, but Southern Arkansas scored the final eight points of the first half to lead 37-29.
The Muleriders led 52-46 at the end of three quarters and led by as many as 22 in the fourth quarter.
Lincoln finished the game on a 9-0 run.
Pryear scored a game-high 18 points for the Blue Tigers with five rebounds. Kiara Shoulders finished with 17 points and seven rebounds, while Vivian Chigbu was two points shy of a double-double with eight points and a game-high 14 rebounds.
Ariana Guinn and Maggie Evans scored 14 and 13 points, respectively, to lead Southern Arkansas.
Lincoln will conclude the Challenge at 3 p.m. today against Arkansas-Monticello.
