Women's Soccer: Hamilton, Haarmann score for Columbia College

COLUMBIA - Columbia College freshman forward Reese Hamilton scored two goals, while freshman forward Greta Haarmann added another goal Saturday in the Cougars' 9-0 win against Williams Baptist.

Hamilton (Helias High School) scored her first goal in the 34th minute to make the score 7-0. She then opened the second half with another goal in the 46th minute.

Haarmann (Jefferson City High School) capped the Cougars' scoring with a goal in the 52nd minute.

Hamilton came off the bench to take four shots, three on goal. Haarmann's goal was her only shot of the contest.

Senior defender Kaitlyn Tambke (Jefferson City High School) helped preserve the Cougars' fourth straight shutout, as the defense allowed one shot all game. Tambke was one of six players honored on Senior Day.

Hamilton is tied for second on the team with eight goals on 17 shots, 12 on goal, while Haarmann scored her first goal of the season on her seventh shot, second on goal. Tambke has one goal and one assist this season with 11 shots, four on goal.

Columbia College (15-3), which is receiving votes in the NAIA top 25 rankings, will hold the No. 1 seed in the American Midwest Conference Tournament. The Cougars will host eighth-seeded Stephens College in the first round Friday.
