JOPLIN — Columbia College junior Josiah Imhoff pitched three scoreless innings of relief May 1, leading the Cougars to a 9-5 win against Harris-Stowe State in the first round of the American Midwest Conference Tournament.

Imhoff (Helias High School) struck out one while allowing three hits and one walk. He improved his season record to 5-1 with his 10 scoreless outing of the season.

In 20 appearances this season, Imhoff has a 4.60 ERA with 17 strikeouts and 15 walks in 31 innings. He has not allowed a run in his last 8 innings pitched.

Columbia College (29-21) is making the program's first NAIA national championship appearance this season. The Cougars are the No. 4 seed in the Shreveport (La.) Bracket and will play No. 5 York (Neb.) at noon Monday in the first game of the Opening Round.
