Men's soccer: Lake Forest (Ill.) 3, Westminster 1

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Freshman forward Matthew Schulte accounted for the Blue Jays' lone goal in Sunday's season-opening loss to the Foresters.

After a scoreless first half, Schulte put Westminster College on top with an unassisted goal in the 50th minute. Lake Forest (2-0) pulled even at 1-all on Amar Korac's goal in the 64th minute and went in front to stay on Alex Armas' goal in the 73rd minute.

Lucas Geib clinched the Foresters' victory with a goal in the 87th minute.

Forest Lake outshot the Blue Jays 16-8, including 7-2 in shots on goal. The Foresters owned a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Westminster junior goalkeeper Connor Bandre made four saves.

The Blue Jays played at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois, on Monday. Results were not available at press time.
