COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Missouri softball was blanked 3-0 by Auburn in the first round of the SEC Tournament on Wednesday night.

Chardonnay Harris pitched a four-hitter for 10th-seeded Auburn. No. 7 Missouri stranded eight runners while hitting 0-of-6 with runners in scoring position.

Madi Norman threw six innings and allowed six hits, three earned runs and walked none with two strikeouts. Kolby Romaine and Callie Martin both hit 2-for-3, while Regan Nash was 0-for-1 with three walks.

The loss continues a streak of conference tournament woes for the Tigers. Missouri is 3-6 all-time in the SEC Tournament and has not advanced past the quarterfinals since 2013, the program's first season in the SEC. That year, Missouri was  the No. 3 seed and advanced to the championship game before falling to Florida.

Missouri is still in great position to be selected for the NCAA Tournament despite the loss. The Tigers have nearly 10 top 25 wins this season, an RPI of 30 and a strength of schedule of 15.

The NCAA Tournament field will be announced at 8 p.m. Sunday (ESPN2-TV).

A five-hour rain and tornado delay pushed the tournament schedule back Wednesday.
