COLUMBIA — The Missouri football team added a defensive line commitment to its 2020 class Sunday, while a big 2020 target in men's basketball is off the board to a Southeastern Conference opponent.
Robert Wooten, a 3-star defensive lineman from Stafford High School (Houston, Texas), is the team's 13th commitment in this class and the third defensive lineman, along with Cooper Davis and Kevon Billingsley. Wooten visited Missouri in early June, and followed with a visit to Arizona, after which he briefly committed to the Wildcats.
Rated the No. 60 player overall in the state of Texas in 2020, and No. 17 at his position, Wooten also drew offers from Arkansas, Wisconsin, Virginia Tech, Utah, Texas Tech, Syracuse, Houston and others.
Earlier Sunday, 4-star small forward Cam'Ron Fletcher of Vashon High School committed to Kentucky. Missouri, along with Alabama, North Carolina and Michigan State, also made his top five schools in mid-July. Fletcher visited Missouri, Kentucky and Michigan State, and took an official trip to Lexington earlier in the week.
The Tigers were hoping to bring in a 2020 class of Fletcher, five-star shooting guard Joshua Christopher (Mayfair High School in California and cousin of Missouri strength coach Nicodemus Christopher) and four-star C.B.C. point guard Caleb Love.
Christopher's top five schools, released July 25, includes Missouri, Arizona State, UCLA, Kentucky and Michigan. Love's top six, which he put out Friday, are Missouri, Louisville, Arizona, Kansas, North Carolina and Indiana.
