On Facebook, David Sawyer posted a historical photo of his great-great-grandfather with the beloved Aunt Jemima who has a legacy. The cancel culture calls her a stereotype to be removed.
The LGBTQ history exhibit was relocated from the Missouri Capitol State Museum to Jefferson Landing State Historic Site with other exhibits. Many children visit the Capitol. The saying is: "Whatever is celebrated encourages more of it."
There are books written and speakers who regret the lifestyle they chose before they were 18 years old. The lifestyle did not make them happier and some who changed their gender live with fear that the large doses of hormones will cause cancer and their surgeries are irreversible.
The Rural Missouri September 2021 publication includes the invocation given by Richard Fowler, manager of Howard Electric Cooperative, at the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives August board meeting. He thanks God for the wind, rains for hydropower, solar power generated by the sun, coal, gas, "lightning that taught us the very use of electricity," knowledge to use electric power and CO helping "crops flourish to feed the hungry world."
He asks God to "Give us the courage and the boldness to stand in the gap with truth about what is required for reliable power." He ends with, "And let us be the ones to defend the poor concerning affordable power. No one talks about what the cost would be if we quit using Your coal and gas. Father, for the sake of the poor, please help us to warn our nation of the cost and reliability issues that we face."
I am thankful for those who are pushing back.
