Your Opinion: Reflections on elections

Dear Editor:

In the 2020 presidential election, many Republicans crossed over to vote for Biden to get rid of Trump. But these same Republicans continue to vote for other Republican candidates.

Why are we surprised a Republican governor was elected now in Virginia? The correlation of votes for Biden in 2020 does not apply to votes for the governor in 2022.

What better evidence do Republicans need to see the requirement for a different Republican candidate for president in 2024? Didn't dissatisfied Republicans "Trump" their own candidate in 2020?

Trump's care of Republican supporters seems not to include the large quiet group of old-line GOP conservatives. How alienated does this large contingent have to be to switch their vote to an old Democrat like Biden?

They must be really "anti-Trump!"
