Your Opinion: No respect for National Anthem kneelers

Dear Editor:

Racist pro players: I have watched pro sports in the past and have decided I will not watch football pro or college along with basketball ever again. It makes me sick to see grown players kneel during the National Anthem to bring attention to social injustice and police brutality on the part of Black people. Men have died in wars since World War I. Black and white people fought side by side to protect the citizens of this country and other countries. Whether they believed in the cause or not, they knew it was their duty to protect our liberty and freedom, and that should be reason enough to stand.

Now we have pro and college players kneeling during the National Anthem because of their cause. It all started with Kaepernick. What the hell gives him the right to protest in that way? He along with other players are acting like children, and Nike is supporting him. Anybody who supports his cause in my opinion is not an American, and they are scum living in a free society. Just like the BLM, which is just a group of thugs tearing up America along with what the players are protesting for no common goal. The players don't mind getting paid with the fans' money and enjoy their lavish lifestyle in a free country.

I have no respect for anyone who supports this cause, and I mean the kneeling during the National Anthem. If we had true Americans who go to games, they would boycott the games of the teams that support this cause. Another sports figure, Muhammad Ali, protested about going to Vietnam to fight because it was against his religious beliefs, but he had no problem getting into a boxing ring and beating the hell out of his opponent. I ask you what is the difference in that scenario? Also, maybe it is because he was a coward and scared to fight an enemy he could not see. God Bless the real Americans!
