Your Opinion: Trump denies responsibility; conservatives abandon GOP

Dear Editor:

On Sunday, Sen. Roy Blunt, a senator who knows better, said Trump has touched the hot stove and likely now will not touch it again.

What he said reminded me of the best line in the movie "The Outlaw Josie Wales:" "Don't urinate down my back and tell me it's raining, senator." Yes, I did change one word in this line to get it past the editor.

Sure enough, as the sun rises in the East every day, Trump is saying on Jan. 12 he is not responsible for what happened last week.

A few items need to be mentioned: County clerks are reporting across the country that people are coming into their ofces to delete their registration as Republicans; corporations are wanting their campaign donations back or not going to donate to those senators and representatives who attempted to stop the orderly and peaceful transfer of power; and Deutsche bank will no longer do business with Trump.

These insurrectionists who are found guilty will no longer be able to vote or own a firearm, who are like common criminals until they serve out their entire time owned to society.
