Dear Editor:

Because of COVID-19, I would like to ask your readers to please keep their outdoor Christmas decorations up for a few more weeks.

Many elderly, my mother among them, can't go places or get out like they used to before COVID. So one of the pleasures she has is when I drive her around in the evening to look at Christmas lights and decorations. I would love to see this trend extended to nursing homes and retirement centers. I think it would be a great opportunity for the elderly to safely go out and enjoy the decorations and make some new experiences. So please keep the Christmas cheer going and brighten the lives of those whose activities have been limited to COVID.
