Your Opinion: Eliminating the influence of Christianity

Dear Editor:

I call your attention to an Oct. 28 www.breitbart.com article by Sean Moran: "Build Back Better Bill Supersizes IRS Auditing by $78 Billion." A quote from the article: "The provision stipulates they will use the tens of billions of funding for increased enforcement and audits."

I also refer to a June 6 Christianity Daily article by Sarah Mae Saliong: "Christian Non-Profit Denied Tax-Exempt Status Because IRS Thinks Bible Teachings Are Republican." "The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) denied a tax-free status to a Texas-Christian non-profit on the grounds that 'Bible teachings are typically affiliated with the Republican Party and candidates.'"

These two articles should, to any logically thinking individual, demonstrate the clear intent of the Marxist Democrat Party-controlled federal government to eliminate the influence of Christianity on our nation's future! It seems like few, if any, in our Christian church leadership, by their silence, either do not understand or refuse to admit the dire consequences of what's happening! I know of only one pastor, John Hagee, of Cornerstone Church, San Antonio, Texas, who clearly understands and courageously speaks out, warning us of the threat to our Christian (and Jewish) faiths by our tyrannical federal government.

I mention the following Nov. 24 www.breitbart.com article by Thomas D. Williams, Ph.D., only to call attention to some church organizations who I feel contribute to the demise of the Christian faith. "Catholic University Displays Painting Depicting George Floyd as Jesus Christ." "The Catholic University of America (CUA) in Washington, DC, has hung two copies of a painting of George Floyd in the role of Jesus Christ in the arms of the Virgin Mary."

I do not claim there to be any connection to the federal government's attempt to quash Christianity, only to call out some Christian leadership and organizations by their obsession with secular political and social standing and how they contribute and enable the fall of the Christian faith.

I wonder if the News Tribune considers these obvious threats to our Christian faith of consequence. I may have missed it but I haven't seen anything on any of the subjects of these articles. I do applaud the NT for Bible verses printed daily as a declaration of their Christian faith but I strongly feel Christians need more than Bible verses, as did our forefathers, to save our nation.
