Dear Editor:

Today's headline regarding FBI checks on caregivers suggests we are going to waive fingerprinting for the caregivers of immigrant children to gain time in removing children from "unsuitable" Border Patrol sites. Apparently, we no longer fingerprint caregivers. Could this mean the child molesters are now free to be in charge of the children? Many are in their teens, so according to the way the new "vote-buying" governmental thinking, they could be considered adult persons, right? As long as they are at least 16 years of age?

How many runaway teens do we have in this United States who would like to run away to some other country, thinking the grass is greener on the other side of the fence? Maybe the same amount of teens are coming here from some of those countries?

Supposedly it costs $250-$275 per day for each child being held in private facilities. I recently checked the cost to stay in a two-room suite with two queen beds, television and a bar, including a beautiful bathrobe. Cost: $169 per night. I like to eat reasonably so I need a budget of $65 for my wife and me. I am still a long way from $275 per night, and that is for two of us. Did you know a motel operating at 16.2 percent occupancy is considered at a break-even point?

Let's live it up and live in a tent for only $500 more per night! Why waste money on a motel when you can sleep on the ground in a tent? Oh, I forgot private bodyguards are an extra cost, right?

Now, if you think this is all a bit absurd, how about the new Oxford University theory? They want to remove all sheet music because it is considered "racist." Really? Yeah, music on paper, mostly written by bad white dudes: Schubert, Mozart, Beethoven. You know the type! We can't leave out the likes of Joseph Boulogne, Florence Price, Scott Joplin and George Bridgetower. All great composers. Oh, how forgetful of me, that last group wasn't white, just great composers of color who used white paper to set their beautiful music upon.

Isn't it time to get over this color nonsense? We have great people, citizens all and equal without qualification! Let's choose people by ability for a change a real change!
