Dear Editor:
Capitalism on oxygen, folks, that's what we have. We have electronic money from nowhere, low interest or no interest to boot free money keeping our capitalist system afloat. Our great capitalist system is petering out.
Cut taxes, cut taxes again on big transnational corporations! Cut taxes on the billionaires, too! Raise costs on working people and don't cut their taxes!
Cut taxes and we will run deficits instead. We will borrow trillions of dollars. The government gives money to the Federal Reserve (made up of 10 banks, eight of which are European, I've read), bonds and securities, money instruments.
The Federal Reserve is keeping our capitalist system going. Our economic system is defunct. This is what economist Richard Wolff said, and I think he is exactly right.
Zombie corporations can't pay their interest and loans they owe, so they borrow more!
The government OKs the Fed's actions. The 50 richest billionaires are doing great, even getting richer during COVID-19. Our tax money is supporting inequality, yeah.
Capitalism has failed millions of people. Low wages, evictions, homelessness and 240,000-plus dead from a virus our capitalist system wasn't prepared for and hasn't corrected, poor leadership.
Hey, I'm just stating the facts, don't be in denial.
Now, we have Amy Barrett on the Supreme Court, whoopee! Another white, Christian capitalist. Same old stuff?
You know who got us unemployment insurance, minimum wage, Social Security, overtime pay, vacation and lots of other things working Americans enjoy? The unions, the Socialists and even the Communists in the 1920s and 1930s under the New Deal. Study your history; I'm just stating the facts, folks.
Now big business and half of our government are trying to take it away.
Our political system is next, few and fewer choices. We have had a "coup d'etat" or close the last four years.
Our two main political parties are very similar. The big corporations usually come first. No, or very little critique of our capitalist system.
No opposition to our system, and the system is failing, folks. Just facts, that is how I see it. Good luck!
