Your Opinion: Jericho March not a protest

Pamela Grothaus

Jefferson City

Dear Editor:

The national phenomenon known as the Jericho March is not a protest but a gathering of people who want to pray for God's protection and healing of our nation.

Your coverage of the Jericho March in Jefferson City incorrectly reports that people gathered at the Capitol to protest "the results of the United States presidential election" and "the election of Joe Biden." Let's be clear: The results of the election are as yet unknown and Joe Biden has not been elected.

The media and the U.S. Catholic bishops, as much as they would like to, cannot call the election. It is still to be determined according to the due process of law.
