Your Opinion: All life created by God for a purpose

Dear Editor:

Being pro-life means that you are recognizing the right to life for every human being. Life begins at conception and should be protected because this is the point where life is the most vulnerable and defenseless. Sadly, when Roe V. Wade became the landmark Supreme Court decision allowing for the premeditated murder of the precious unborn, that right to life under our Declaration of Independence has been violated and discriminates against the unborn.

All life is created by God for a purpose. We are given free will to choose to follow God's will for our lives or choose to go our own way. God established a system of justice to be used to maintain order and equity for injustices committed. When someone freely chooses to take another individual's life, they are subject to the laws established to bring adjudication for the life they took. Without the ability to enact proper law and order, there is chaos. It is true that God desires all men to be saved, but that salvation does not absolve us from justice under the law. I'm sure several on death row found salvation before their sentences were carried out and that is the ultimate desire. However, to compare abortion (murder of an innocent) to the death sentence of a person who was allowed to have life and freely chose to kill another human being as being unmerciful is disgusting and irrational. There is no logic to this comparison.

Jeremiah 22:3: "Thus says the Lord, 'Do justice and righteousness and deliver the one who has been robbed from the power of his oppressor. Also, do not mistreat or do violence to the stranger the orphan, or the widow; and do not shed innocent blood in this place.'"

Psalm 106:37, 38: "They even sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons, and shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan; and the land was polluted with the blood."

God promises to avenge the shedding of innocent blood, so we in America need to repent and abolish this abomination from our land.
