Your Opinion: Make sure we can all vote safely in November

Dear Editor:

Our public health and democracy are at risk, and that won't change much before November. Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft and Gov. Mike Parson should act now to make sure all of us will have the chance to vote safely. U.S. Sens. Roy Blunt and Josh Hawley and U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer must make sure that Congress provides the states more election funding, and should require that Secretary Ashcroft and Governor Parson and their counterparts in other states take the necessary steps to ensure safe voting in November.

It's critical that voters have safe and equal access to the ballot box. It's our right.

Requirements for states to provide no-excuse early voting, the option to vote by mail, and protections for poll workers will ensure everyone can vote as safely as possible.

Blunt, Hawley, Luetkemeyer, Parson and Ashcroft must do the right thing and protect our elections now.
