Your Opinion: Progress can take violence, even war

Dear Editor:

What cause in history ever got through without some sort of fight, disruption or violence? Not many I would say. Our "Founding Fathers," as they are called, caused trouble, even a war. If protesters now didn't make some sort of chaos, what would get done or change? Probably not much change, it will be slow at best I would say.

White people just don't get it, many don't and older whites. They don't know what it is like to walk in a Black man's shoes. Many whites are selective on what history they study, also, kind of like some people and their Bible study. They read and see only what they want to read and see. Ignorance is not bliss, it is ignorant. Our nation has a ways to go before it is great. Trump's idea of great, who knows, maybe 1850 is great to him.

Free labor, slavery, built this nation. In a capitalist society low wages are the norm, exceptions are more like Western Europe and Scandinavia.
