Dear Editor:
Three to five times per week we are treated to the rantings of Mr. Barnhill who clearly seems to think that he knows and understands things about President Trump, his experiences, his psychological makeup, and his personal motives that most of us simply are either not privy to or astute enough to comprehend.
OK, Mr. Barnhill. We get it. You don’t like the president, that is your right.
But here are the real truths:
1) The only things you know about Mr. Trump are what the people from whom you get your “news” want to tell you. From that you can imagine about whatever you want, but you have no other knowledge. You can sit at your computer all day every day writing letters that the vast majority of News Tribune readers write off as hogwash but you don’t “know” any more than anyone else because, like all of us, you have first-hand knowledge of nothing.
2) If you are thinking your rantings are going to convince anyone to change their opinion of the president you are wrong again. People, at least those with any interest in the welfare of this country, already have their opinions based upon over three years of a remarkably successful presidency. That isn’t my opinion, that is a fact based upon all available statistical data comparing where we were before the pandemic to where we were when Trump took over.
3) It doesn’t make any difference whatsoever whether you or anyone else personally feels an affinity for Donald Trump. What matters is what he has accomplished for us in his years as our president. The left has worked very hard to make elections about personalities rather than issues because they know they can’t possibly win on their platform. So they, and their accomplices in the media, resort to an unceasing barrage of name calling and second guessing hoping that naïve Americans will accept their attacks as having some validity and vote based upon their description of his personality rather than his accomplishments.
4) Our president can be as rotten a person as you envision him, but he is doing things, despite a daily liberal media assault, to re-establish the United States as the pre-eminent world power, to strengthen our economy, and to make the lives of Americans better and safer. That is all we can ask!
