Your Opinion: State taking over private health care

Dear Editor:

The most interesting and welcome news article (Tribune Views, Dec. 15) about rural health care, especially in Mid-Missouri "worries" brings to the forefront again the specter of the state replacing local private health care.

St. Mary's SSM Hospital now reaches "10 counties" with four clinics. However, all these services would be taken over by state government when/if the hospital is sold to MU Health.

Not a surprise that "Capital Region Medical Center did not respond to media requests." They already have multiple area programs beyond the Center.

Another spread of an unknown amount state-control replacing private health care.

The news article reveals an egregious invasion of the state taking over private health care. Thank you!
