Your Opinion: Going 'above and beyond' just by showing up?

Dear Editor:

Recently, Taco Bell apologized after an Ohio Taco Bell manager posted a sign noting that the dining room was closed because multiple employees routinely refused to show up on time. I have no problem if Taco Bell was apologizing to underserved customers. I do have a problem if they were apologizing for embarrassing lazy employees. The routinely tardy employees should have been fired!

Do today's employees think that they are going "above and beyond" if they show up on time and actually work. Has a Maynard G. Krebs aversion to work become common place? www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqzpQPDSr2s

If you aren't willing to show up on time, all the time, and actually work, have the decency to leave the job and stop expecting a paycheck for your pathetic work ethic.
