Your Opinion: Dems refusal to enforce laws

Dear Editor:

Should conservatives and libertarians be terrified, or merely frightened, of Democrats' refusal to enforce laws against crimes committed by potential Democrat voters?

When police are prevented from protecting law-abiding citizens, so that we must protect ourselves, we will be in danger of being charged like the McCloskey's (who never even fired a shot) were by St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner, a Democrat.

Will Joe Biden and Kamala Harris actually be so bold as to take the Oath of Office knowing they will actively thwart the enforcement of our immigration laws?

Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascn has vowed to stop charging juveniles as adults and to prohibit prosecutors from seeking the death penalty. He said his office would end the cash bail requirement for many offenses (catch and release?) and "re-evaluate" sentences in thousands of cases. Los Angeles is a sanctuary city that shields criminal illegals from federal immigration officers. The LA county government may arrest and charge a criminal illegal for not wearing a mask, but it won't hold him/her for ICE.

In Portland, protesters/rioters have once again taken over a section of the city. After seven months, the lawlessness continues. Democrats controlling the city refuse to stop it. According to a KTLA5 report, armed "protesters" have barricaded and booby trapped the streets. Don't the law-abiding citizens who live on the blockaded streets, or the business people who own businesses on those streets, have any rights?

Michigan Rep. Cynthia Johnson recently tweeted, "you Trumpers. Be careful. Walk lightly. We ain't playing with you. Enough of the shenanigans. Enough is enough. And for those of you who are soldiers, you know how to do it. Do it right. Be in order. Make them pay."

Can conservatives and libertarians expect to be targeted as they were by the Obama/Biden IRS, prior to the 2012 elections? The IRS instituted a delaying process for granting tax-exempt status to groups, the vast majority of which were conservative groups. Lois Lerner, who headed the IRS unit that oversaw tax-exempt groups, said organizations that included the words "tea party" or "patriot" in their applications for tax-exempt status were singled out for additional reviews. Lerner retired and no criminal charges were ever filed. A hard drive containing Lerner's emails crashed, 424 back-up tapes that likely contained copies of those emails were somehow erased, mistakenly.
