In speaking of the planned gift to Turkey, Russia and Syria of the 20-mile strip of land in northern Syria bordering Turkey and previously controlled, competently and peacefully by our Kurdish allies, Trump boasted, "People are saying 'Wow' what a great outcome." Yes, autocratic presidents of Russia - Vladimir Putin, Turkey - Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Syria - Bashar al-Asad, are all saying that.
Trump has firmly established himself as the "best Russian asset ever" and Putin is surely gloating that the small amount of money spent to influence the 2016 American presidential election was the best investment his government has ever made to diminish American power and enhance Russia's influence on the world stage.
