Missouri Gov. Mike Parson will become the state's first sitting governor to address and participate in the Midwest March for Life in Jefferson City.

The 10th annual march is Saturday.

Parson's participation in the regional event follows President Donald Trump's address to marchers during last Friday's rally in Washington, D.C., when Trump became the first president to address the national March for Life.

Following his address during a pre-march rally, Parson and first lady Teresa Parson will walk with other marchers through part of downtown Jefferson City.

The march will leave St. Peter Church Selinger Center at 10 a.m., with another rally scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. in the Missouri State Capitol.

Marchers will proceed north on Broadway Street, turn east on Capitol Avenue, traveling past the Missouri's Governor's Mansion, and turn right onto Madison Street. They will then take a right on High Street to reach the Capitol. The entire route is estimated to be about three-quarters of a mile.

Also speaking will be David Bereit, founder and former CEO of 40 Days for Life, an international Christian nonprofit that organizes campaigns against abortion.

Other speakers expected to participate include Katrina Gallic, development director of the national March for Life; Bridget Van Means of ThriVe Express Women's Healthcare, which provides abortion information, pregnancy options, pregnancy testing and ultrasounds to women in St. Louis; and Stacy Washington, a conservative podcaster.
