ST. LOUIS (AP) - A special grand jury looking into whether an investigator involved in the criminal case of former Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens case committed perjury has been extended for up to 60 days.
Private investigator William Don Tisaby was hired last year by St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner to investigate allegations Greitens took a compromising photo of a woman and threatened to share it if she exposed their affair in 2015, a year before the Republican was elected governor.
The grand jury's six-month term was set to end last week, but the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Presiding Circuit Judge Rex Burlison approved an extension.
The grand jury is reviewing whether Tisaby lied during a deposition.
The criminal charge against Greitens was eventually dropped but he resigned in June.
